Dark Corners Review and Giveaway

Dark Corners
By Liz Schulte

About the book:

Ella Reynolds knew from the first moment she walked into the old house someone or something was watching her. Waiting. Her husband's violent murder sent her spiraling into a world of grief and isolation, but Ella isn't alone. Who or what is responsible for her husband's death is still with her. Darkness has engulfed the past year of Ella's life. Everyday reality slips a little more between her fingers as she struggles to break free from her memories.

She must look deeper into her past as well as the present to discover truth of her husband's homicide. A string of uncanny events takes place and practical explanations run thin as Ella follows the terrifying road to closure. As the past and present come to a head, Ella must decipher who or what the murderer is before it takes her as well.

My Review:

I literally read Dark Corners by Liz Schulte in a matter of about 10 hours or so.  I don’t know the exact amount of time, I just know I didn’t want to put this book down!  This was no doubt a page turner!  This book will have you at the edge of your seat just wanting to get to the end of the book to know what the heck happened.  Thankfully I read this book throughout the day and not before bed as I am sure it would have given me nightmares!  I knew I had to finish this book because I wouldn’t be able to sleep until I read every last word.

When I saw the opportunity to read and review Dark Corners, the book genre was not listed.  As I was reading the book, I wasn’t sure if what was happening was Ella’s imagination since nobody seemed to believe her.  Ella’s own husband couldn’t even believe what she was hearing and seeing.  Was it really all in her head?  Was she crazy?  He would even tease her in front of their friends.

I liked reading the flashbacks according to Ella.  They described her life before her husband’s murder.  We learn more about Ella and her husband and their friends.  The flashbacks actually threw me off a little bit.  Ella seemed to have a lot of flashbacks.  But I think they actually signify her way of mourning the loss of her husband.  It was her way of coping with him being gone, being able to think about her life before everything happened.

This book had me guessing on every page.  Just when I thought I knew what was going on, I later found out that I was wrong!  This book was really creepy, but it kept me hooked until the very end.  Dark Corners was full of drama, suspense, mystery, and murder!

Dark Corners can be purchased on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Smashwords.

I read alot of Amish fiction and started reading alot of mysteries lately.

I like reading almost any genre. I'm usually first drawn in by the cover (yes, I INITIALLY judge a book by its cover lol) and then by the blurb. If it intrigues - me I read it. ;)

This sounds like a great page-turner.
