Hidden Threat Review

Hidden Threat
By Sherri Hayes

About the book:

Cali Stanton has one goal in life, being a doctor. She does not intend to run the family business. But when her father gets injured and tells her that she’s the only one he trusts, Cali finds herself behind his desk at Stanton Enterprises.

Matthew Andersen and his brother Jason have spent the last two years managing security at Stanton Enterprises. But when someone threatens the company and its CEO, challenging Matthew’s abilities, what seems like an easy task, becomes a big problem.

Cali and Matthew must fight their growing attraction for each other to avoid a potentially damaging office romance. As the threats continue, they must work together to keep the company running and discover who is behind the threats.

But when things escalate to violence and Cali becomes the latest target, things get personal. Can Matthew find the Hidden Threat before it’s too late?

My Review:

When I received the pitch to read Hidden Threat by Sherri Hayes, I responded right away as romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres!  I love action packed books that keep me guessing.  I love reading and learning about other relationships and how people think.  It’s fascinating to me to read about how other couples are in their personal relationships and how they respond to each other.

Hidden Threat centers around Cali Stanton and Matthew Andersen.  Cali moves back home to take over the family business while her father recovers from an injury.  However, at the same time, the family business has been receiving threats and has had product stolen.  Cali is unaware of the danger until her first day on the job as CEO.  As head of security, Matthew takes on the role of protecting Cali.  They are both attracted to each other when they first meet, but aren’t able to act on their feelings due to their job titles.  Cali is CEO and Matthew’s boss.

Matthew always felt the need to protect Cali, even before he fell for her.  They both feel the same way about each other, but they also both doubt the other feels the same way.  This feeling is natural with any budding romance.  This just makes it more exciting when they finally reveal their true feelings for each other.  Cali and Matthew are both stubborn and it does cause friction between them.  They have their disagreements different opinions but they learn to work through them and make it all work out.

Hidden Threat was a page turner as I read this book in a few days.  You will find mystery, suspense, and romance between the pages.
