Peril in the Palace Review

I recently received a free review copy of The Imagination Station Book 3: Peril in the Palace an Adventures in Odyssey book.

The Imagination Station adventures continue in the third book of the series, Peril in the Palace, as cousins Patrick and Beth are kidnapped by Mongol warriors. Only the friendship of fellow traveler Marco Polo saves them from harm. They are brought to the Mongol palace, where the Kublai Khan dislikes both their gifts and their message about Christianity.

How do the cousins get the golden tablet they need to save Mr. Whittaker’s friend, Albert? How do they escape the city and find the Imagination Station? Enter the perilous palace and find out!

This book is a good option for the early elementary school reader who has finished all the Magic Treehouse books but is still wanting to experiecnce time travel and adventure. The book does follow many of the same story line concepts as the Magic Treehouse books: instead of a tree that whirls and takes them to another time, there is a machine. The 2 kids are cousins instead of siblings and the underlying theme is Christianity rather than magic and wizadry.

You can order Peril in the Palacefrom Amazon or request it at your local library.
