My thoughts:
I had my hopes up for this book, and I must admit, I was a little dissapointed. It gave quite a bit of back story about The House of Night and how it came to be, but a lot of the book was rules and things you already knew from reading the series. The Dark daughters ritual was in one of the previous books in quite a bit of detail, but for some readon, they chose to restate it in this book. I thought the vampyre twists on some stories that I learned growing up, such as Cleopatra, was pretty cool. The author could have went into greater detail about a lot of things. I was very dissapointed that Nyx and Kalona's story was not in the handbook, since it's a major part of the history of the House of Night series. The Fledgling Handbook had the potential to be so much better than it is.

I give The Fledgling Handbook: 2/5
