Kiera’s Quest: Awakenings
By Kristy Brown
About the book:
Meet Kiera, a pretty, intelligent, and talented girl, brought up by her uncle, and abandoned by her parents. Life is as normal as she believes it to be, apart from the deep ache inside her, telling her she’s different. For years, Kiera had dreams where she ventures into a different reality. She’s not alone; a presence is always there, keeping her safe, yet she feels vulnerable, and hunted.
Zakk, Prince of Zantar, is under the Witch Queen’s spell as she tries to take over his world. He crosses paths with Kiera, and their fates are entwined.
As their journey unravels, she learns that she is not the only one affected by this prince. Who is on her side? Will she find out why she has been chosen? How can someone so young, defeat such evil? Will she find the strength to save the ones closest to her? Will this be Kiera’s only Quest?
My Review:
Kiera’s Quest is a quick read as I finished it in one evening. While I don’t usually read YA Fantasy books, I found Kiera’s Quest to be an interesting, exciting, and imaginative book. Kiera is thrown into an adventure of her young life when she discovers Prince Zakk who was transformed into a mysterious being. She finds him with a ring that fits perfectly on her finger.
You’ll root for Kiera on her journey to save Zakk, Prince of Zantar. She is forced to follow her instincts while her Uncle and friends tell her otherwise. During her quest, Kiera is guided by Zakk who helps her find the way. Kiera doesn’t let anyone or any obstacle get in her way to save and protect Zakk.
In his current state, Zakk is powerless against the Witch Queen. Kiera feels the pressure to save Zakk but is encouraged by her friends and her dog, Terrence along the way. Kiera must face the Witch Queen herself, luckily she has the help of her dog Terrence to defeat her.
If you enjoy YA Fantasy genre, you’ll like reading Kiera’s Quest and get lost in her world. I was able to picture everything through Kiera’s eyes and fee what she was feeling. She’s determined to help Zakk as well as help save her friends. Kiera’s Quest was an enjoyable read from start to finish, a nice little escape from everything else.
